Our Story

How it all started...

Our fellowship began as a Calvary Chapel  in the summer of 1999 as a small home gathering, meeting to study the book of Romans verse by verse. What started as a simple desire to know God more deeply transformed into a vibrant church family. By the spring of 2000, we were holding Sunday services, baptizing believers, and sharing the gospel through our radio ministry. Rooted in the timeless truths of Scripture, we have faithfully taught God’s Word, worshiped together, and served the Georgetown community. Today, 25 years later, we remain committed to gathering under the oak tree, steadfast in fellowship, prayer, and worship as we anticipate the return of Jesus Christ.

Expanding the vision with a new name "The Oak Church"

Through prayer and discernment, we believe the Holy Spirit is leading our church into a new season of ministry. This season reflects God’s desire for His church to be a place of worship, teaching, and service, guided by His Word and the work of His Spirit. As we look to the future, we are refreshing our approach to ministry and outreach to better reflect the unique calling He has placed on this fellowship. Our mission remains unchanged: to faithfully proclaim God’s Word and make disciples, trusting Him to work through us for His glory.

Where we are headed...

As we move forward as The Oak Church, we are committed to continuing as a Christ-centered community devoted to teaching the Bible verse by verse and walking in obedience to God’s Word. We aim to foster a fellowship where believers are equipped to live out their faith, serve one another, and share the hope of the gospel. In this new season, we trust fully in the Lord to guide our steps and use this church as a light for His kingdom. We remain united with the broader Body of Christ, seeking to reflect His love and truth in all we do.
